| Biography
Jack Montgomery is a portrait photographer living in South Freeport, Maine. Until 2007, he photographed primarily in medium format black and white. Recently, he has transitioned to digital capture and output. He often photographs communities of people (Holocaust Survivors, firemen, fetishists, judges, elderly villagers) and shoots primarily in Maine, Massachusetts and New York. He has exhibited his work extensively in Maine and elsewhere. He is active as a member of the board of the Maine Media Workshops (formerly Maine Photographic Workshops) located in Rockport, Maine, and of the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts located in Portland, Maine, and Spannocchia, Tuscany. He is a member of the Photography Advisory Board of the Portland Museum of Art. He is represented by Susan Maasch Fine Art of Portland, Maine.
